As part of the ongoing growth in the IC-ENC community, and expansion of members across the world, we are delighted to announce the launch of a second regional coordinating centre (RENC) within the IC-ENC family.
Operated by the Australian Hydrographic Service (AHS), this new office will be called “AUSRENC” and will provide the same comprehensive and independent quality assurance services already undertaken by the main IC-ENC office located in the UK which has provided the necessary training, documentation and systems to AUSRENC.
For the time being, as the new office gets fully established, AUSRENC will manage just Australian ENCs, but AUSRENC expects to welcome new IC-ENC members in the second half of 2005.
All ENC data, regardless of which IC-ENC RENC office has quality assured it, will continue to be provided to appointed IC-ENC Value Added Resellers (http://www.ic-enc.org/page_vars.asp) from the main office located in the UK.
IC-ENC is also in discussions with several other nations, and we expect the IC-ENC community and network of IC-ENC RENCs to continue to expand throughout 2005; thus broadening the availability of high quality ENC products to the mariner.
