India joins IC-ENC - 16th May 2003
We are happy to report that the Indian National Hydrographic Office (INHO) and IC-ENC have recently agreed to work together to help to broaden the availability of a quality assured database of Indian ENCs.

Members of IC-ENC believe strongly in the importance of providing the mariner with an extensive database of consistent ENCs which have all been quality assured to the same high standards and which is made available through a variety of professional end-user services.

So under the agreement, INHO will initially supply its ENC data to IC-ENC for independent quality assurance and distribution through its appointed value added resellers. Meanwhile, IC-ENC will provide INHO with support to develop its own regional centre based on IC-ENC practices and procedures. Once this centre is fully established, it will take over the role of quality assurance for the ENC data of its region.
