Well known for its type approved ECDIS system, Transas is the first ECDIS manufacturer appointed by IC-ENC to supply official electronic charts in System ENC (SENC) format. This appointment allows Transas to provide an integrated SENC based service encrypted using the Transas data protection scheme. Transas will also offer a delivery service for ENC data, encrypted using the IHO S-63 data protection scheme. As part of its plan to offer a complete 'one stop shop' solution for all electronic charting requirements, Transas is also undergoing the DNV certification process for SENC distribution and expects type approval shortly for a SENC/ENC delivery service. This will ensure that Transas can offer the official ENCs from both IC-ENC and PRIMAR-Stavanger. For other areas where official ENC coverage is not yet available, Transas will be able to provide its own private electronic chart data in its proprietary "TX97" format.
As operator of the "PRIMAR-Stavanger" coordinating centre, NHS will combine the ENC data from IC-ENC together with the ENC data from the member nations of PRIMAR-Stavanger, and make these available as part of the well known “PRIMAR-Stavanger Official ENC Service” which is widely available through their network of distributors.
