IC-ENC welcomes Venezuela - 20th October 2006

IC-ENC is delighted to announce the release of the first batch of 18 ENCs produced by the Hydrographic Department of the Republic of Venezuela (DHN). The ENCs provide coastal coverage from Lake Maracaibo to Cumaná, including the main ports and refining installations along the coast.

DHN plans to produce over 60 ENCs in total, providing further detailed coverage of Venezuelan waters over the coming months.

DHN joined IC-ENC earlier this year, and since then has worked closely with the IC-ENC team. A member of DHN’s ENC production department, Lt. Jose Bencomo (pictured right) has recently filled the spare ENC validation seat at IC-ENC, which is open to all IC-ENC members who wish to learn more about the art of ENC quality assurance by working alongside the IC-ENC team for a short period.

This sort of technical exchange has proved invaluable for both IC-ENC and DHN, and has culminated in the release of this first set of ENCs.
