How to provide a high quality and more consistent ENC product was the main theme of the latest meeting of the IC-ENC and Primar Stavanger Joint Technical Experts Working Group, hosted by IC-ENC. HOs represented were from Australia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Iceland, Latvia, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Spain and Sweden. The IHB in Monaco was represented, as were the Russian HO by Transas.
There was lively discussions on a variety of issues and concerns surrounding ENC consistency, collaboration between RENCs, validation software and S-57 Edition 4. The proposals and actions from the meeting are now being explored and developed further in order to provide a more useable product for the mariner in the future.
