IC-ENC to include Russian ENCs - 18th November 2005

IC-ENC is pleased to announce that it has formalised its RENC cooperation with the Chief Administration of Hydrography and Oceanography of the Russian Federation, through its authorised distributor ZAO Transas. IC-ENC will therefore now add the Russian ENCs covering the Black Sea, Sea of Azov, Caspian Sea, and far eastern Russian coastline to its rapidly expanding ENC database.

The first ENCs to be released will be a set of seven ENC units covering the Black Sea and Sea of Azov. Recently improved to bring them into line with the ENC consistency recommendations published by the International Hydrographic Bureau, these ENCs provide excellent coastal coverage at 1:180,000 scale. They will be shortly supplemented by larger scale "Approach" and "Harbour" coverage of the ports of Tuapse, Novorossiysk and Sochi, as well as larger scales of the Kerch Strait.

Further coverage of the Caspian and far eastern coastline will be released in stages over the next six months.
