IC-ENC welcomes Peru and Indonesia as members - April 2006

IC-ENC is delighted to announce that the Directorate of Hydrography and Navigation of the Peruvian Navy (DHN) and the Indonesian Hydrographic and Oceanographic Service (DISHIDROS) have joined IC-ENC.

DHN has already completed a series of over 30 large scale ENC cells, covering the main ports and harbours of Peru, including the important international port of Callao. These will be available from IC-ENC re-sellers shortly. DHN also has a further series of 31 small and medium scale cells in production, providing complete coverage of Peruvian waters.

DISHIDROS has completed a series of nine cells of the coastline between Jakarta and Surabaya; another series of nine cells of the route between Surabaya and Makassar; and a further series produced in association with Singapore of the ferry terminals and routes between the Riau Islands and Singapore.

DISHIDROS now plans to cooperate with UKHO in the production of a comprehensive 1:500,000 series of charts of the important Archipelagic Sea Lanes, with the first priority being given to the busy Selat Sunda Strait.
