Value Added Resellers
IC-ENC appoints Value Added Resellers to be specialist distributors who develop their own services based around ENCs, typically including additional complementary electronic products, and provide these tailored services through their own distribution networks.

Appointed VARs:

UK Hydrographic Office provides the “Admiralty ENC service” through its worldwide network of Admiralty distributors. This service delivers the ENCs in their original format, protected using the international data security standard which allows customers to authenticate the source of the ENC data. A new “Admiralty ECDIS service” has now been launched, and brings the widely used “ARCS” raster based product together with the ENCs into a single seamless “dual-fuel” service. This "Admiralty ECDIS service" allows you to order from a range of regional folios, and ENCs are automatically added to these folios as soon as they become available. SevenCs, through its subsidiary Chartworld, provides a System ENC based service where the ENCs are provided online in its proprietary “DirectENC” format. Chartworld can also provide a variety of ENCs from other sources, and can complement the official ENC data (where it is not yet available) by privately produced unofficial data which is also provided in the same “Direct ENC” format to form a seamless “dual-fuel” service based entirely on vector data. Jeppesen Marine provides a System ENC based service ("CM-ENC") where the ENCs are provided in it's proprietary “CM-93/3” format. Jeppesen Marine can also provide a variety of ENCs from other sources, and can complement the official ENC data (where it is not yet available) by privately produced unofficial data ("CM-93/3 Professional") which is also provided in the same “CM-93/3” format to form a seamless “dual-fuel” service based entirely on vector data. Transas provides a System ENC based service where the ENCs are provided in the “CD8” SENC format which is currently used in Transas ECDIS systems for displaying ENC data. Transas can also provide a variety of ENCs from other sources, and can complement the official ENC data (where it is not yet available) by privately produced unofficial "TX97" data, which is also compatible with Transas ECDIS systems, to form a seamless “dual-fuel” service based entirely on vector data. Norwegian Hydrographic Service provides the “PRIMAR-Stavanger Official ENC service” through its extensive network of distributors. This service delivers the ENCs in their original format, protected using the new international data security standard which allows customers to authenticate the source of the ENC data. In addition to the ENC data from IC-ENC, the PRIMAR-Stavanger Official ENC Service includes the ENCs from the member nations of PRIMAR-Stavanger, plus from a growing number of other countries like Singapore and South Korea. MARIS (Maritime Information Systems) provides the "Maritime Digital Service" which offers ENCs together with a growing range of other complementary products and services in a seamless fashion. VAR Appointment Criteria

IC-ENC wishes to appoint a number of VARs who are capable of taking the ENC data supplied by IC-ENC and incorporating them in an encrypted form within a broader service proposition which the VAR markets and sells widely.

To be appointed, all VARs must be able to demonstrate that they can meet the standard set of criteria for appointment. Any company that applies and can satisfactorily demonstrate that they can meet these criteria will be appointed as a VAR.

If you feel your company qualifies, and you wish to act as a VAR for IC-ENC, you will need to submit an application that describes how you are able to meet these criteria.

The application form is structured and designed to allow you to demonstrate on paper how you are able to meet the criteria for appointment listed above. Please return your completed applications to IC-ENC as directed in the application form.

IC-ENC will commission independent assessments of all received applications against the published criteria. Where these assessments are positive, applicants will then be required to physically demonstrate that they can create accurate and complete ENC exchange sets protected using the applicant's chosen data security scheme before they can be appointed.

IC-ENC will treat all appointed VARs equally, providing the ENC data to all VARs on the same conditions and at the same price.
