IC-ENC appoint new Chair and Vice Chairs
Following unanimous support from Members at the annual IC-ENC Steering Committee meeting (SC26), Michael Andrew (Assistant Director Licensing and Dissemination, Australian Hydrographic Office) was appointed as IC-ENC Chair. With many years of experience as Vice Chair, Michael is well prepared for the role and is already bringing ideas and perspectives to help shape the future direction. IC-ENC extends its sincere thanks to Burak İnan for his valued contributions as Chair from 2023 to 2025, and Michael is building on firm foundations set by Burak.

The outgoing IC-ENC Chair, Burak Inan, in a closing speech at SC26, noted that it has been an honour to serve the community which has grown stronger and more cohesive over the two years. “Being Chair was not about the title, but about representing the voices that are often unheard, whilst doing my best to ensure no one is left behind”.
IC-ENC are also delighted to share the number of Vice Chairs have increased, each bringing complementary skills and experience to the team, to support Michael. Leendert Dorst, Pia Højgaard, Burak İnan, Julia Powell, and Ayo Olugbode make up the Chair Team.
Michael commented at the meeting “I am committed to working with and for SC towards mutual and important objectives. I am grateful to the IC-ENC Vice Chairs who continue to conduct and support the important work. Having so much talent working for IC-ENC enables wider and more frequent representation amongst the community than ever before.”
